Taking on more of the research design
After working through the rehabilitation-games systematic review, I took on a larger design role in this project led by Lijie Zheng. The question shifted to patient-facing VR in gynecologic and related reproductive procedures, with attention to education, preparation, and patient support. We needed a structured way to map varied interventions, their characteristics, and their outcomes.
Connecting questions, search, and extraction
I designed the overall review workflow and three original research questions, developed the search keywords and strategy, completed PRISMA and classification work, and wrote the first Methods draft. I also contributed substantial data extraction and validation, along with the flow diagram and RQ-aligned result tables.
The central methodological task was alignment: the search needed to support the scope of the questions, and the extraction structure needed to make those questions answerable. This project extended my experience from carrying out review stages to defining how those stages fit together.
My ownership: review workflow, research questions, search strategy, and the first Methods draft.
A completed contribution, an ongoing paper
My assigned contribution is complete, while the full manuscript remains in progress in the August 2026 record. Working screening counts are not presented as final findings, and the paper is not described as submitted or accepted. The contribution I can show is the research design and evidence-organising work that supports the manuscript’s next stages.
