A handbook people needed to use

During my CELE internship, the task was concrete: build the information website for UNNC’s 2026 Pre-Sessional programme. Nearly 1,000 students and staff formed its intended audience, across an eight-week programme running from 20 July to 11 September. Schedules, registration instructions, announcements, and support contacts needed to be easy to find when someone actually needed them.

Designing around the next action

I independently handled design, development, and ongoing content/backend maintenance. Rather than reproduce a long handbook as one page, I organised the material into a structured bilingual information hub. Programme navigation provides the overall map; prominent entries lead to schedules, arrival information, and emergency contacts; announcements surface changes that matter during the programme.

English and Chinese access was part of the information architecture, not an afterthought. Domestic and international students needed a consistent way to navigate the same service. The work brought together frontend implementation, content organisation, and responsibility for a production-facing university website.

My ownership: the complete website, from information structure to delivery and maintenance.

Delivery means continued responsibility

The site was delivered for the 2026 programme and remains a live information service in the source record. Its audience size describes the programme community, not measured active users. What makes the project meaningful to me is the responsibility beyond launch: keeping a real service organised and usable while people rely on it.
